UNDERSTANDING OF HUMAN SUSTAINABILITY TRAINING COURSE

Climate and environmental risks are the core focus of global risk perceptions over the next decade. The African continent is also expected to experience an average increase in atmospheric temperature of between 1.8 and 4.3˚C by 2080, which is 1.5˚C higher than the global average. As a result, it will likely experience much more significant climate change impacts than elsewhere, which will compound existing socio-economic challenges and vulnerabilities. As such, education, training, and public awareness on issues of climate change and sustainability must be pursued to help change our future. The designed Sustainability Training Short Course provides a comprehensive overview of fundamental environmental and sustainability foundation knowledge relevant to the local and global context and takes a deep dive into how Sustainability and future human existence are intrinsically interlinked and offer tangible examples of good practice.
